Woodworking courses
Create, learn and enjoy
Take part in a relaxed, hands-on woodworking experience in Pip’s home studio in the Cotswolds, Cheltenham, offered as a one-to-one or one-to-two course. Courses can also be specifically for a parent and a child to create projects together, as a unique bonding experience and a chance to make beautiful pieces you’ll cherish forever.
Guided throughout by careful, expert instruction, you will learn traditional techniques while working with beautifully selected wood to create a piece of your own - whether a chopping board, fruit bowl, keepsake box, or a project tailored to your interests.
Designed for beginners and those with some experience alike, these sessions offer time, space and shared focus, resulting in a finely crafted object to take home and the satisfaction of skills learned at the bench.
Dates can be fixed around your availability - just get in touch to say which course you’d like to do. If you’d like to learn woodworking but don’t live locally, see Pip’s Retreats, as there is an option to stay in his beautiful home in Cheltenham with him and his family.

Pip as a teacher:
Pip is a professional woodworking teacher with over twelve years of experience teaching in both state and independent schools, as well as through individual tuition. His approach combines deep technical knowledge with patience, empathy, and a genuine joy for helping others discover the satisfaction of working with their hands.
More than simply teaching skills, Pip aims to help his students fall in love with the craft — to find creativity, focus, and confidence through the rhythm of making. His lessons are both practical and reflective: spaces where sawdust meets calm and balance, and learning feels as rewarding as the finished piece.
Blending craftsmanship with curiosity, play, and a touch of philosophy, Pip invites each student to explore woodworking not just as a skill, but as a mindful and lifelong practice.
